Heart of the River - AMAWaterways

“Oceans take you to countries, rivers take you through them.”

What sets AmaWaterways apart from other river cruise lines?

What makes river cruising special?

Leaders in Innovation | They leads the river cruise industry with innovative features and amenities like:

  • ships specially designed with shallow draft to permit sailing in low water levels

  • a wheelhouse engineered to pass under low bridges

  • accommodations with twin balconies.

One of the most important features is the design of the ship—designed with the shallowest draft. What that translates to someone cruising with them is the fact that they have one of the best records of all the cruise lines regarding cruising on the river enjoying your amazing vacation versus riding on a motorcoach past the low points of the river.

Variety of included experiences | Their guests have the luxury of choosing personalized experiences to fit their own interests, with a menu of complimentary excursions led by knowledgeable local guides. Guests can select just the right pace with gentle, regular and active excursions. We even offer occasional excursions for late risers.

A Palate-Pleasing Journey | AmaWaterways is passionate about providing exceptional dining on board. They were the first river cruise line inducted into the prestigious gastronomic society La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs* with their exquisite cuisine that brings cultural immersion to the table. Plus, Drinks are on Us - From fresh-squeezed juices, sparkling wine, coffee and tea in the AM. Sip & Sail, the complimentary, cocktail hour and savor unlimited wine, beer and soft drinks served with lunch and dinner. Coffee and tea is available 24 hours a day, and fresh water is provided in your stateroom, as well as for excursions.

Award-Winning European Ships | Their inviting and innovative ships offer the luxury of space, accommodating an average of just 150 guests on board, and are custom designed specifically to maximize every aspect of their guests’ experience. The fleet includes 29 innovative ships sailing 16 unique waterways through Europe, Asia, Egypt, Africa and South America. Two new ships will be added to the fleet this year cruising on the Magdalena River in Colombia.

Service with a Smile: With AmaWaterways It’s All About the People | Their onboard crew loves what they do, and it shows in their warm, inviting and attentive service. I can speak from experience regarding how the crew goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable, and genuinely happy on your cruise. Our 2023 group who traveled down the Rhine from Amsterdam, Netherlands to Basel, Switzerland thought their attentiveness was nothing short of wonderful!

Please consider joining us on our Danube River group cruise starting June 30, 2025.
